It was about 12 hours after the first 30 Hour Day ended that a bunch of us met back up at PIE, the venue we called home for our inaugural event, to pack up the equipment and tear down what remained of our set. Tired and with family in tow we moved furniture, pulled up tape, coiled cables, packed equipment and picked up garbage. It was nice to have so many of us back together after the long 2 days of work. To be off camera, to laugh and tie up a few loose ends.
Rick and I toyed with the idea of a 2nd 30 Hour Day before the first one even began, but it was the day after the event that I think we both knew for sure it would happen. But only if we could find a way to make it bigger. To bring more life to it, make it more a part of the city we love.
It’s with that thought in mind that I’m proud to announce that our main venue for 30 Hour Day 2 on July 2nd and 3rd is Portland’s Pioneer Square. We’ll fill the place with music and fun for more than half the 30 hours we’ll be on air. And this time not only will we be giving back to the community, but with our location we’ll be able to be a part of it.
I can’t wait until July.

WOW! Can’t wait… this will be a blast. WE CAN ALL PRETEND TO BE STREET PEOPLE ALL 30 hours!! #childhooddream
What about the other half? Where will the show go?
YES!!! Nice work gang, this is going to be incredible!
It hadn’t even occurred to me to host it in the Square, it’s almost beyond belief. What a perfect spot! The draw we’re going to get from being downtown during the summer with the Blues Festival going on and people bouncing around for Independence Day weekend… holy crap.
Very excited! The gang at No Good Jones is going to start working on something extra special for the event… can’t wait!!!
