Giving Can’t Wait

by Cami Kaos on December 9, 2009

We’ve been gearing up and getting ready to ask all of you to do a whole bunch of giving so we can help make our corner of the world a better place.  Next week seemed so soon, until I talked to our amazing assistant MeaganKate today and found out that there was one family in particular that needs our help RIGHT NOW.

A single mother and her two boys lost everything they had when their Woodburn, OR house burned down on Sunday night.  Right now all they have is each other, and though I’m sure they are thankful for that, I don’t think it’s nearly enough.

So 30 Hour Day is asking you, and I’m asking you, please let’s try to get this family back on their feet.

What do they need?  Everything.

The priority right now is clothing (Woman’s tops size small, bottoms size medium and shoes size 8.5.  Boys clothes in sizes 8 & 10 and shoes sizes 3 and 6) toys, games and household goods.

Have something you can give?  Please contact MeaganKate@gmail.com to coordinate drop-offs.  The effort to help this family is just getting underway and as soon as more concrete ways to contribute are made I’ll update you.

Please do whatever you can to help.

We’ll also be setting up a wish list of Christmas gifts for them.  We’ll collect those items during 30 Hour Day.

An account has been set up on their behalf at US Bank.  You can go to any branch and make a contribution to Account #153662955712!

Is there a bank that’s taking care of financial donations? Because I can raise money on fundable and twitter if we have a bank to send it to.

Hey All!

I just gave Cami the account information, as it was just set up. Please feel free to donate finances, or contact me if you would like to donate clothing, household items, etc.

Thank you all. She has been so overwhelmed by the love.

And Rick — YES TO THE TREE!
