No small feat: Small Society gathers more than 120 lbs of food for 30 hour day

by Rick Turoczy on November 20, 2009

While 30 hour day is still a month away, it’s never too early to start gathering food and toys for folks in need.

And that’s exactly what the folks at Small Society did, last night, at Ignite Portland. The result? More than 120 lbs of donated food and a box of toys for families in need this holiday season.

And given some of the creative ideas we’ve heard from the gang over there at Small Society, we’re sure this is just the beginning of what they’ll be able to accomplish as part of the 30 hour day effort.

This is really happening! Let’s get you and your organization involved.

Thanks so much to Small Society for stepping up to help 30 hour day. Thanks to Portland’s Legion of Tech for hosting and promoting the food and toy drive at Ignite Portland. And our utmost gratitude to all of the attendees who brought food and toys with them—or who dashed up the road to the grocery store to grab donations. You’re all helping make other people’s holidays just a little bit brighter, this year.

This is an amazing beginning to the effort. We can hardly wait to see what happens next.
